This vintage four-panel Chinese Coromandel-style folding room divider features a high-gloss black lacquer finish and intricate raised relief carvings inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The main subject showcases traditional Chinese court ladies in flowing robes, surrounded by landscape motifs such as pagodas, weeping willow trees, flying cranes, and floral vases. Each panel is bordered with detailed gold-painted geometric and floral patterns. Constructed from four vertical wooden panels connected by brass hinges, it can fold flat for storage or adjust to various zig-zag angles for independent standing. The reverse side has a simpler floral scene.
